Chinglish

Beijing stamps out poor English

"Emergency exits at Beijing airport read No entry on peacetime, and the Ethnic Minorities Park is named Racist Park."

"Occasionally, a sign makes sense"

Unfortunately, one of China's biggest attractions, the Chinglish signs, are in the verge of being lost forever, or at least in and around Beijing, in the near future. As a proud tourist to have, read and seen, some of these remarkable signs, I would like to protest against the government's decision. Where will I be able to see the wonderful signs? Where will I be able to photograph strange and funny signs? Where will I be able to lost, in front of a sign, wondering what the hell am I supposed to do, or what the hell does it mean?

On the other hand, it's a great day for every English speaking (reading) person in China. Changing millions of signs must be hard. And they will have to build millions of signs. Millions! Just imagine, millions of translations to be done. So, they will also need someone that does understand what is being written or stamped, on the signs. Ahh... I can imagine myself, sitting in my office, with a view to the Great Wall of China, and just reading and correcting sentences. So, why not?

Usama Bin Laden vs September 11

Isn't it strange that the "Most Wanted Terrorist" (The actual Most Wanted Terrorists are, infact, the current American President, and his associates, such as Mr. Donald and Mr. Bush Senior.), by the so called American Goverment, isn't being wanted in connection with September 11, in the FBI's Most Wanted List, but instead, just "IN CONNECTION WITH THE AUGUST 7, 1998, BOMBINGS OF THE UNITED STATES EMBASSIES IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, AND NAIROBI, KENYA"?
